Focused On The Heart?
K, so there I was just in the car listening to whatever my brother had in the CD player, and (to make along story short) I ended up worshipping to an Evanescence song!!! Totally! I was singing from such a deep place...It just seemed so raw, such a real message in her words!
I will share it with you!
"Tourniquet"
i tried to kill the pain; but only brought more
i lay dying ; and i'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal
i'm dying, praying, bleeding and screaming
am i too lost to be saved; am i too lost?
my God my tourniquet
return to me salvation
my God my tourniquet
return to me salvation
do you remember me; lost for so long
will you be on the other side; or will you forget me
i'm dying, praying, bleeding and screaming
am i too lost to be saved; am i too lost?
my God my tourniquet
return to me salvation (x2)
i want to die!!!
my God my tourniquet
return to me salvation (x2)
my wounds cry for the grave
my soul cries for deliverance
will i be denied Christ
tourniquet
my suicide
So, after reading it can you see how real she is...Sure she may not have it all RIGHT, but who does? And Christ is our REAL suicide...We are to sacrifice ourselves so he might live in us!! The revelation...
I was reading this thing by Moby the other day and he was saying that he doesn't understand how anyone can truly be confident in their salvation...To the extent that we are to be working it out everyday according to Christ. I think he is right...I choose to believe that i am saved under the blood and love of our Lord, but also I always wonder what will judgment day bring. I know I don't live fully for him, I still do love the world. And I hate that fact, but I have to be real about it. And just trust that he is more focused on my heart!
So yes, the thinking about stuff has arrived!!! And Evanescence is more anointed then perceived!! I was so having a Spirit-to-Spirit with God during that song!!!

hmmm...
here's my 2 cents:
salvation does not depend on whether or not someone is completely, 100% sure that everything will work out dandy in the end, but there's just something about being 100% sure that I think we really need be-if not for when our body throws in the towel but for the here and now. That I am completely and unshakeably certain that the LORD Jesus (that He is LORD is quite important btw) will stand up for me that day means a few things. Firstly, it means that when I slip up it's just a temporary thing-sin isn't what my existence is about like those in the world-my existence is based on being His son-I already live in His house, and that will just be another form of existence in the same house. Secondly, because I'm sure of my own salvation, I can be sure of anyone else's who asks for it-which means that I can evangelize, and evangelize with a confident passion (which is really only starting to grow, but I'll be good good good to go in about two weeks!)
So I'm not saying that salvation depends on you always being 100% sure of it, and it assuredly, most certainly, as God lives does not depend on you getting it right every single time-it depends on you asking once and asking daily (because salvation and sanctification are really one and the same in my books). I'm just saying that it's absolutely a very possible place for every Christian to be, and a darn good place to be at that.
My 2 cents worth...

yes, the being sure, but also working it out daily are so closely knit together.
I am sure he will never leave me nor forsake me, but also am struggling daily to work out my salvation as in seperating myself from the world and dying so he may live.
p.s. just thought you should know, I'm not questioning my knowing Christ.

Ok Belinda,
Here's what I think. Personally, I believe that everyone is saved by grace and that we are going to heaven regardless of how much we screw up. Todd Bentley had a dream once that he was in heaven and angels were teaching littls muslim somalian children. Those children are under grace, they don't know any better. God wouldn't let them perish because they never knew of him. God is a loving God. If on the other hand you know of Jesus and reject him... then that's another story. Think of Saudi Arabia and the millions of people that have never heard the gospel because it's not allowed there... I think there will be a lot more muslims in heaven than Christians because they are under grace. There is a difference between going to heaven and inherting the kingdom of heaven...

WEll put Dallas. Your comments mean the world!! Think on Oh Contemplater...and love on Oh Responder!!
I agree with you totaly. The good thing is that we are working FOR our salvation we are simply working OUT our salvation. There is nothing more we can do that God has not done for us already in terms of being saved. We are to simply love him open and gazing!!! Just like the Lillies...
